JONATHAN BOULWARE

About Jonathan Boulware
After graduating from Stanford University with a degree in Sociology, I returned home to Las Vegas, Nevada, where I began a lifelong career in the hospitality and gaming industry at Mirage Resorts, Inc. I have spent over 20 years in Executive level management, including time spent as a Diversity Champion at MGM Resorts, where I gained valuable experience leading and coaching employees at all levels of management how to break through their mental barriers and find strength and confidence in their personal leadership skills to achieve their goals. Currently, as the Vice-President of Nevada Operations for Jacobs Entertainment, Inc. (JEI), I have continued to motivate and inspire our management team and employees to reach their full potential. In addition to my operational responsibilities, I also serve as a media and community spokesperson for JEI and have fielded over 25 media and community interviews, including one live in-station TV interview.
I was motivated to write my first published book...
Take Control of Your Body Before It Takes Control of You
50 Success Actions to a Healthy Body and Confident Mind
in dedication to my mother who passed away from complications due to obesity.
In June of 2014, along with my two brothers, I watched our mother lose her life due to complications from obesity. My mother was a brave, courageous, and remarkable woman, but was unable to change her lifestyle behavior to save her life. In our last good conversation in April 2014, with tears in my eyes, I realized my mother was saying goodbye and leaving me with one of her last gifts - reminding me of the real value and tremendous power of choice, which she no longer had.
One of the last things she said was, "Never put yourself in a situation where you lose the ability to think, act, decide and fight for yourself."
This statement was the motivation for the title of my book because what she was saying was for me to do everything in my power not to let my body (obesity) determine my fate.
I have struggled with obesity for years, and ever since her death, I have made it my passion to understand why it is so hard for people, including myself, to change their lifestyle behavior, even if it means saving our own lives.
In addition to writing my book, my journey to understand lifestyle behavior change also led me to become a Certified Personal Trainer and Health Coach from the American Council on Exercise. I am a Certified Level 2 Master Coach from Precision Nutrition.
I also earned Specialty Designations as a Behavior Change Specialist, Senior Fitness Specialist, and Fitness Nutrition Specialist from the American Council on Exercise. I earned a Specialty Designation of Behavior Change Specialist from the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
I know why lifestyle behavior change is so hard, but I also know how people can change their lifestyle behavior to become the person they want to be. I did it for myself after so many years of trying.
I am an expert in Lifestyle Behavior change and I created The 432 Playbook to help save lives. It is a Truly Unique, Inspiring, and Educational step-by-step program where anyone battling obesity can create their own customized lifestyle behavior change plan to overcome obesity and never go back.
